Here is a poem
A message from someone
Looking in through a window while out in the night
Into somebody’s some-room
Filled with fragrance and light
And someone is up on a stage for display
For the dusk and shadows that’ll flee come the day
When faced with the spotlight
There are those that will hide
In the pantries and hallways
Rooms tucked deep inside
But it’s hard to see out
When you’re buried within
When you cling to the people,
The places you’ve been
But it’s time to come out
And to be unafraid
Of what people will think
Of mistakes that you’ve made
Step into the limelight
Step out on the floor
Seek out the night watchers who wait at your door
Step into the spotlight
You may be surprised
The watchers will all be impressed with your pride
Because people, they should see the things that you do
The sides of yourself that they never knew
There will always be those who won’t like what you say
But you’ve put yourself out there;
You’re out in the day!
You’re out in the streets;
You’re looking around
There are endless new things to see and be found.
And if someone should ever stand in your path
Just step right around them
Move onward, move past
It’s true; sometimes people can really be mean
But you’ll find the good ones,
Go see and be seen
It’s not worth retreating
And running to hide
‘Cause it’s lonely in here
While they’re all outside
So take the first step into fragrance and light
And maybe tomorrow step into the night
Aren’t you tired of feeling so blue?
